Steeped in character but in need of a thoughtful refresh, this Victorian terraced home in Bristol underwent a complete transformation, seamlessly blending its 19th-century heritage with a refined, contemporary aesthetic. Entrusted with a full-scale renovation, Studio Lodge reimagined the interiors to enhance both form and function, carefully balancing period charm with modern comfort. Original architectural details—such as ornate cornicing, ceiling roses, and fireplaces—were meticulously restored, while thoughtful updates introduced sophistication and practicality, ensuring the home felt both timeless and inviting.
Creating a seamless flow throughout the house was central to the design approach. Each room was given a unique yet harmonious identity through a carefully curated colour palette, tactile materials, and elegant, heritage-inspired detailing. Soft, muted tones provided warmth and depth, complemented by statement lighting and custom furnishings that bridged classic and contemporary influences. A mix of antique finds, bespoke upholstery, and sleek modern pieces added layers of texture and personality, while functional enhancements, such as reconfigured layouts and smart storage solutions, maximized space without compromising on style.
The kitchen and dining area became the heart of the home, featuring a deep, inky blue shaker-style kitchen, warm oak flooring, and a reeded glass pantry that introduced subtle texture. Bathrooms were given a fresh yet period-appropriate update with classic metro tiles, vintage-inspired fixtures, and underfloor heating for modern luxury.
