Empowering a circular future for all retail

Recycling has become almost second nature for most of us these days, and its application has expanded into other industries as nations being to drive greater re-use of products and materials. Yet when it comes to big and bulky items such as household furniture, few companies have found a way to do it economically and at scale. Enter stage left FloorFound: a recommerce platform designed to simplify the complexities of oversized resale and enable communities dedicated to sustainable outcomes.
While the world of the circular economy has been growing steadily over the past decade—a 2020 EU report found circular material use was up 5% from 2004—the EPA estimates that over 9 million tons of furniture and over 2.1 million tons of appliances continue to end up in landfills every year. And, much of that waste consists of like-new open-box items.
At Ubuntu, we’re passionate about promoting a world that creates less and reuses more of what we already have. So when FloorFound got in touch to help take the branding and promotion of their recommerce platform to the next level, we couldn’t wait to find out more.

“As of April 2022, FloorFound has helped keep over 450,000 pounds of oversized products in homes and out of landfills—and that number is growing every day.”
FloorFound started out with the belief that there could be a solution created that turns returned and open-box items into sellable and lucrative inventory. The founding partners wanted to leverage their decades of experience in the retail, ecommerce, and last mile logistics spaces to build the most holistic recommerce platform and network infrastructure.
Ubuntu helped to build out the existing FloorFound brand into a more holistic identity that reflected the growth the company had seen over the previous 18 months, and roll-out a new look-and-feel across the web experience for prospects and customers alike.
The final website design delivered a simplified and holistic approach to navigating the complex world of returns for established retailers that have struggled to take on the process for decades. Designed to help take away the pain and improve previously lost revenue, FloorFound have revolutionised the recommerce resale industry and are shaping a greener future for brands and consumers alike.
The results to-date from Ubuntu’s work have been impressive: over 250% increased traffic, 370% increase in media coverage, and a heck of a lot more resold returned items helping to reduce the amount of landfill waste around the world. Good job Ubuntu x FloorFound!
